Apronology

EllynAnne is a role model for giving aprons at Thanksgiving.  Since writing an article in 1999, she had the thought to give aprons at Thanksgiving and has gathered over 400 aprons and apron memories across America.  She hosts Tie One On events across the country. "National Tie One On Day puts the give back into Thanksgiving through a gesture of kindness, and the apron is part of the giving."  Blessings, Janet

New Thoughts

I have found a wonderful new place to purchase fresh fruits (organic) and vegetables. The meats have no hormones or additives and the food (because it is always fresh) tastes exceptional. I am trying dishes that appeal in flavor and looks.  I tried Giada's vegetables recipe and not only does it look good, it tastes good. I had not cooked with shallots or Kalamari olives before. With the Thyme, they turned out spectacular. Fresh Market is the best store to trust, shop and I always have a smile when I go there.
New thoughts, yes I still need my cottage by the water, however, the garden idea has now given way to an herb and flower garden.  I'll let Fresh Market do the fruits and veggies.  But the puppy is coming up as soon as I find the cottage.  Where is that cottage?  Blessings, Janet

Barn Owls and Kestrel Box site

Watching more owls.  Please wait a bit for site to come in.  They are so cute.  The little one eats whole already.  Mom and dad had been staying in the owl box together with the little ones.  Apparently he was a bachelor for 2 years. He met his lady and she came and settled in.  They have 3 little ones. Actually, the oldest is pretty big now.  It feeds my curiosity of watching the animals.  I can hear birds all day long in the background as I go about my business (it is too hot to have the windows open now).  And I've heard a train (I miss that because I have always lived around tracks all my life until now).  A very great webcam in the UK.  At the very bottom of the page is a Kestrel box on line also.  Blessings, Janet

Happy Fathers Day

My daddy is a magnificent man.  He will be 94 next month.  He is healthy, witty and fun to be with.  A beautiful person I am glad to call my daddy.

A Fatal Grace

I just finished reading Louise Penny's A Fatal Grace.  There are  5 and soon to be 6 mysteries about the fictional town of Three Pines.  The people are so lovable and Chief Inspector Gamache is human but brilliant.  Her writing captivates and they are page turners, can't put down type of books.  Recommended reading is a must.  Read them in order if you can.
Blessings,
Janet

Two more aprons completed

I finished, but had not put them up, two more aprons completed. They are fun to do, a bit of hand work, but that's good too.  I love Roosters in everything, so these were a trial to see which looked better. My daughter is in love with the black ruffle.  But I ran out of black fabric, so will go to the store for more. Blessings, Janet

Apron Mania

Hi,
I've completed one of three aprons.  All different.  The fresh cherries and strawberries are tempting on this one. A perfect kitchen apron, ruffle and pocket to set it off and make it practical.  Blessings, Janet

Lighthouse Pillow

The Lighthouse pillow has been in the making for 2 days.  Finally, I have it completed. It reminds me of the lighthouses around FL.  The sea blue background with each different kind of lighthouse.  The back has a red fabric has gold and white sparkling stars. I haven't made a pillow for awhile. Next project - Aprons.

Class Wednesday

I went to class to make an overblouse.  Whew, a bit complicated, but a hit.  My overblouse is not the one shown, mine is yellow with white paisley design.  I enjoy the class with the ASG ladies. We had a crowd and Laura's is always the best place for projects.  My friend Bernice and I beat the late afternoon storms home. Blessings, Janet
