Minimalist Painting ReDo and Rt. 66 in Tulsa

My Minimalist ReDo
I took last week's painting and added my Dreams to it. Most of the painting is done with pastels. . but I also used Prismacolor pencils.  The house is no longer yellow. . .I'll take a house surrounded by nature.

Thank you Kristin and Eva for this wonderful spot to light every week on Paint Party Friday.

My life (from moving) is still in flux but I'm trying to get better at visiting as many of you as I can. Thank you so much for your comments and visits.
My late husband and I went on our honeymoon from
Central IL to California on Route 66.
We went through Tulsa, OK and stopped at ORU.

U.S. Route 66, also known as the Will Rogers Highway, the Main Street of America or the Mother Road, was one of the original highways within the U.S. Highway System. Wikipedia

OK, I took a day off. One of my neighbors was showing several of us around and we ended up at Charlestons in Brookside. I definitely recommend it.  We even went shopping at a General store.

My friend and I split a huge Reuben and had a cup of Homemade Potato soup. Yummy.

I finally have seen a lot of the place where I now live. It has more meaning to it.

  1. love being an armchair traveller..its so cold here so lovely to see warm photos i like your painting too

  2. Lovely artwork. I haven't used my pastels for quite some time. Thanks for reminding me just how good they are to have fun.
Great to have a tour of Route 66. I've never been but heard so much over the years. Thanks for sharing. Happy PPF to you

  3. Ohhh the painting is beautiful. A place I would like to be. I have not been to Tulsa in a very long time. It looks like you had a great time. Thanks for sharing the photos.

  4. Well, your house still has a yellow glow to it :-) And you're right: where it's situated is more important than its colour. How nice of your neighbour to show you around. It takes a while to get used to a new place to live, and having someone show you the nice places can help make you feel more at home.

  5. Lovely photos and art. ILY the orange blush of today's house

    much love...

  6. I hope you feel settled soon. Have a wonderful week.
