Quilt Guild Meeting Saturday

Hi,
As I previously mentioned, I am co-chair of the adverts for the 2010 Quilt Show program. The monthly meeting was Saturday.  One of the ladies motioned to show sculptured soft dolls at our quilt show next year.  I seconded the motion.  Marie Zimmerman, VP and show CEO, has learned my name and number, she asked the person who made the motion to be chair, Margery said OK, she asked me to be co-chair.  I told her I was already co-chair.  She requested someone else, no one else came forward, therefore, she made me co-chair. YIKES!  As my girlfriend seated across from me said, 'open mouth, insert foot.'
Did I mention, Margery is name of the POV of the young adult book I'm writing!!
I have not been sewing, but I have not received my material yet for the challenge either. I am trying to clean out my house and redecorate.  There is a lot of accumulation from working/commuting 12 hour days (7 years) and then errands, attending meetings and having fun on weekends with my precious girlfriends.
I am learning a lot from what I have 'kept' or had no time to go through as a pack rat.  However, as I re-read or read for the first time, I am pitching it all. . . or (magazines) giving it to my daughter and/or neighbors.  I hate to throw out magazines with very good articles.  The books will go in a sale. . . 50 cents will make me a small fortune!!
Thanks for reading, God Bless (you are all an inspiration to me)

Mother's Day

Hi,
I find myself thinking about my mother often.  I guess I am subconsciously noticing the images around me.  It feels like I'm the only one without a mom.  It is so strange. Things come up and I want to talk to her about them just as I use to.  It is hard for me to put into words the part of me that misses her.  I only realize it's mother's day when my children send/give me a card.  Presents are nice, but memories are better.  When do your children realize that?
When I moved far away, every year I travelled back to see Mom and daddy.  Even now, every year I go back and see daddy, he's 93 in July.  So far he hasn't gotten stronger, so he's in a nursing home and that's a bummer for both of us.  I am unable to call him every night as I had done when he moved to the residential care apartment.
I attended the sewing guild meeting.  I made another (tie) bag and they loved it so much they want me to teach it.  What a thrill.  I am in a July Santa swap so as soon as I receive the materials, I have to get busy on that one.  I still have Muggins, the Sky Dragon, to make.
I see that almost everyone is beginning Spring.  Some of you had such a horrendous winter. I remember winters like that every year I lived in IL.  Not a happy time.
No picture capability yet. Thank you for stopping by.
God Bless,

No Pictures - Computer Death

Hi,
I've been delayed in posting since the beginning of March because of the on/off situation with my computer.  The blue screen death finally happened.

I now have a new computer (not wanting one at this point, but. . .). Finally NO WINDOWS.  I had tried Linux and highly recommend it. . However, I am trying the Apple/Mac Mini.  Now if I could find a way that it did not use power. . .ummmm.   If you remember FPL took me out March 5 and I haven't been able to establish a working computer since.

I have been busy attending doll and guild meetings.  Palm Beach County Quilt Guild will be having their once every two years quilt show in Feb. 2010.  I have volunteered to garner adverts for the show program (co-chair).

I have worked on the 30 inch doll I had picked up at a flea market.  I am trying to make her less tarty.   I finished another 'tie' bag, which I had put up a picture in a previous post. . . using a different tie of course.

Thank you for reading, God Bless.

Multiplying Bunnies

Hi,
Sorry about the time between posts. Who gave computers rights? Email has been mostly out since March 5 when the power took me out and I've been off and on with the hard drive. . .since!

I've been busy with the bunnies. . .or I should say behind my back they've been busy too. Two of them went to new homes. . .may they continue to multiply there. Two others are going to my daughter and grandson and the rest of the bunnies are going to the other grands who will be here for Easter, YEA! Four of them are so shy all you see are their cute puffs.

I can't wait to show you what I purchased on the FabShopHop. It's going on now and through the rest of April. Join in and see all the wonderous fabrics, quilt shops and fun to be had. She is putting them in the mail as I write. The quilt shops are run by the most fabulous understanding people, their customer service continues to amaze me.

Cannot post pictures. . .computer is being stubborn. I will post pictures when I can get it working again, sorry.
Thank you, God Bless
