Little Witch Doll

Hi,
Gearing up for the next holiday.  I tried a new pattern, but those don't work, so I had to fix it.  I think she could qualify for a Prim.  My first.  I guess joining the Prim Doll group has rubbed off on me. Lil' Witch did not start out Prim. . . she just became her own self.  I love it when they do that.
After church, there was a Sulky Applique seminar at Laura's Sew and Vac. Quite a lot of information to take in.  I also won 6 stabilizers and varigated thread.
Blessings,
Janet

New Doll

I went to Quilt Guild meeting today and was so surprised that my friend Charlene had seen a doll and thought she needed lots of love, so she gave her to me.  Charlene said, 'she's not very pretty.'  Yikes, I told her, 'she heard that'  and covered the dolls elfin ears.  Well, all was saved, many of the people present came by the table to tell me how beautiful she is.  Charlene was amazed. . after all, it just takes love to make you beautiful.
I love all my friends and they are so beautiful.  Thank you Charlene, you made my day better because you are in it.
Blessings,
Janet

Hi,
Kim is asking what three things we love about our home.  I have chosen my 3 favorite things. My mothers Flamingo mirror, one of the Ladies paintings of my collection, and the doll on my front door.  Kim has a pretty great giveaway.
I'll let you enjoy my favorite things.  Be sure to visit Kim's website - truly delicious, full of antiques, Miss Maggie and her magnificent personality. I know you will enjoy this blog.

Stocking for Soldier

Hi
I finally finished the soldier stocking.  They will be turned in Monday at the ASG meeting along with supplies.  I haven't found many supplies yet, the stores are really cutting back on everything.  Pretty soon we'll have to go out and rent space for a garden, fortunately, planting time is next month.  I've started on the witch, YAY! She will be due before I know it.
My girlfriend received her birthday package.  She now has her own Wild Child Art doll.  The rest of the gifts will be show when she finishes painting them.
Many Blessings,

Janet

Party Time for Pups at Kelee Katillac Shack

Hi,
Kelee Katillac at Katillac Shack is having The Pet Parade Blog party Friday, Sept. 30. She sent out scarves to all of us who have pups and cats and we participated in embellishing them. She was able to reach her  goal of $2,000 to the Foreclosure Pets Fund.  She is requesting we all attend and you are more than welcome to post a picture of your pet on your blog with a link emailed back to Katillac Shack (see link above) so your pet is included in the party.  Add your link before September 28.
For every link that posts-- Design Gives Back will donate an extra $3.00 to the fund!!!!    Party Date is:  September 30, 2009.
Kelee and Oliver (her pups) ask: "You must send us your link to be included - this is a non-profit effort - we would appreciate your help on this."
Please, let's help her out for a worthy cause.
Blessings,
Janet

Crochet Projects still going strong

Hi,
I am thinking about all the holidays coming up. The newest project is tiny only 2 1/4 by 1 1/2 inches. I am having fun making patterns and changing them to fit what I need.
I heard from a cousin recently about our Warrick family genealogy research. We are both hitting brick walls. We know for sure they were in Dayton OH in the 1840s-60s but nothing before that because of a fire (most genealogy information is lost by this happenstance) that destroyed all records. The 3 boys were in an orphanage in 1850. We are having issues finding the parents.
Sew many things to do and sew little time.
Have a great week.
Blessings,
Janet

New Projects

Hi,
The Metal Rooster only had 1 more vote than Grandma's to win #1. Oh, that's right, this is Florida, too close to call.. .. .. Recount!!!
The little guy is lost and can't find his way home. He's dragging his threads behind!!!
Two new dresses for applique or pins. You can see where I'm going with this - Halloween.
I have entered a halloween witch challenge. I cannot show the doll until after it has been judged. . . . and I win!
Hope you are having a great weekend.
Blessings,
Janet

Dolls are Screaming

Hi,
My newest project, doll aprons. I felt that if I made enough aprons, they would 'cook.' Well, from the sound of them screaming at me . . . I guess not. You'd think I was asking them to do windows -- I don't do windows either, I have a MAC.
We still have a couple days to see the Roosters. They are worth the trip to Bella Vista place.
Blessings,
Janet
