Bald Eagle

Today I drew a bald eagle. I used Prismacolor Pencils, pastels and gel pen.

As we celebrate the coming of a new year, we also celebrate the artists and their talent, their teaching and their spirit.  Kristin and Eva have kept this spirit alive for Paint Party Fridays for more than 2 years. The had intended to have the party for one year, but the party has grown and developed into more than expected.  We honor each other, we are helped each week by our talent and it has become a huge learning, teaching, and beautiful artistic site.  Thank you Kristin and Eva from the bottom of my heart.

I used pastels, Prismacolor pencils, verithin, and watercolor.

Thank you Eva and Kristin for the Paint Party Friday ongoing artists showings, teachings and allowing us to learn something new every week.

I am a Stencil Winner. . . .my Yellow Cottage has a Rainbow - Updated with Addition

I was a winner of the Stencil Girl Blog Hop featuring Pam Carriker.  Maria sent it to me. I was so excited. . .it went into my Spam folder and I was late getting back to her.  . . Oh My Gosh gmail . . .what were you thinking???

I can think of many uses for this stencil, but the first thing I saw was a Rainbow. . . . and of course my yellow cottage.  The long-haired dascshund, the garden and flowers. . .

I used the pastels, Prismacolor pencils and pens. The picture is 6x8 inches.

Thanks so much Eva and Kristin for throwing a great Paint Party Friday. The artists are varied and exceptional. Their creativity that they share through video and instruction are fun and a learning experience.  The art varies from journaling to mixed media and explanation of art supplies.

I thought the rainbow should be mushed together more and darker in spots, it wasn't too realistic. I am so glad for the stencil that I originally used because it kept the lines for it. I notice I don't have trees, couldn't figure out if I wanted palms or Elms/Oaks.  We'll see. I just want to find the durn thing and move in.

Blessings,
Janet

Clouds

On my daily walk in the mornings, I take a lot of pictures of clouds.  I have attempted to do something different here.  I put some water in some of them. . . not too sure what to do with them to make them look like clouds!!!  It is, yes, the yellow cottage I'm still trying to find. . . this time it's on a farm.  There's more corn beyond. . .

I used Prismacolor pencil and pens. It's 6x8 inches.

Be sure and take a look at what some of the other artists have come up with and what art supplies they are using on Paint Party Friday.

Blessings,
Janet

I am working on 4 more baby dolls. So I haven't had time to experiment this week.

Boo Kitty and Flying Witch

I used Prismacolor pens, glitter and glitter glue mixed with acrylics, and gel. I mixed acrylic orange with clear glitter glue. . which did not bring out the glitter, so I had to add powder glitter for BOO.

For the witch's hat I added gold glitter glue.

She was fun to make.   Paint Party Friday hosted by Eva and Kristin is an amazing  group of artists that show their work and many have instructions on 'how to' for most of them. There is quite a variety of art from Journaling, to painting, to mixed media.

There are Days like that. . . .

I wasn't satisfied with the face, therefore, I decided to change it.
That totally didn't work, so she ran into a cloud. . . .
there she goes through the cloud. . . .
There are days like that!!!
I used Prismacolor pencils and pens; acrylics; and modeling paste.  BTW, it is a full moon.

I enjoy the Paint Party Friday artists.  I learn so much and find out so many new supplies and ways of doing my art.  Thank you all my art friends and Kristin and Eva for hosting. Stop by these wonderful artists.

Last week's art and this week's WIP

I took last week's art and added more Molding Paste and color.  Then started another work. . this time adding my infamous yellow cottage.

I am constantly trying new ways and retrying the old ways to see how each picture will turn out. I feel that I need to fill in the space in the middle.

These pictures are made using the following supplies: pastels, Faber Castell pitt pens, Prismacolor pencils, acrylics, and Golden Light Molding Paste.

Thanks to Eva and Kristin for the Paint Party Friday. The artists on these blogs are some of the best. They share what they have learned and continue to teach their ideas to us through video, detailed description in entertaining and refreshing ways of learning. Ducks Playground

My first attempt the grass didn't look right. I decided to keep trying to make it look like grass. I wanted to keep it primitive looking.

This is my attempt to keep it primitive and yet to show the grass in tufts as it is. I used Prismacolor pencils, acrylics, Pitt pens and color Prismacolor pens.

This is the picture of the ducklings I used.

Yellow Cottage from a different perspective

I am always drawing a Yellow Cottage by the water.
That is and has been my dream. I used Prismacolor pencils.
I have tried a different perspective of it.
I knitted a Yellow Cottage. I will be adding flowers, a door knob,
either shutters or slats on the windows.
The front has the red door. I haven't decided if I will make it a purse or a pillow. The green at the bottom is grass. The flowers will be embroidered. It is a fun project.

It's all art. I love the aspect of painting with yarn. I intend to make more houses, but making landscapes, etc. pictures/pillows.

Paint Party Friday is a fun, entertaining, serious, great bunch of artists celebrating their art with you. Join the party or just visit . . . you will always have the opportunity to learn something.
Blessings,
Janet

Acrylics on different Mediums including Cloth Dolls

I tried acrylics on different mediums.
Watercolor paper, ACEO, clouds, rain trees, and brook.
It turned out too dark and not defined enough.
I tried again on another ACEO, need more practice.
I make cloth dolls and I use acrylics for the faces and Faber-Castell Pitt pen/brushes
for the faces and legs. They are far from finished. I wanted to show where I also use my art.

We have all sorts of artists on Paint Party Friday. . . take a look at the many different mediums and videos available at their sites.

This week I am using Soft Pastels

I love the way they work and how they feel.  I rub Q-tips over them after rubbing them on the paper. I used them on watercolor paper. And I used the prismacolor pencils. Sunset, palm tree on the beach and the ocean.

I then made an ACEO with prismacolor pencils.  She is a witch(lette) in training. Can't quite make the broom fly right side up.  Teens and young adults love to play with color in their hair.

Have some fun with the other artists on Paint Party Friday. It is fun and a total learning experience.

Blessings,
Janet

Still Experimenting

FIRST PAINTING

I did not like the way it turned out.  I used too much water and the clouds became sort of puffy. .  which I proceeded to make puffy.  It needed something else, so I actually added sand (the kind you buy in a craft store).
SECOND PAINTING
I couldn't get the sunrise (over the water) so I changed the picture entirely, or should I say, I ruined the picture entirely.

Only way to learn, is just to keeping going (oops) mountains with trees and birds on the siade and a setting sun. . . .
Both paintings I tried to correct something. . . .and am going to keep painting until I understand it and get it right.

Please join the Paint Party Friday group and see what we all are accomplishing.
Blessings,
Janet

Reflections

I've been trying something new.  I love the reflections in the water that I see as I walk.
I am trying to capture them. Truly difficult.
I had watched a couple of videos. The white acrylic is what I used to simulate the water.

Pictures (Photographs) below of each pic above.

Be sure to visit the other Paint Party Friday artists.
