FIRST PAINTING
I did not like the way it turned out. I used too much water and the clouds became sort of puffy. . which I proceeded to make puffy. It needed something else, so I actually added sand (the kind you buy in a craft store).
SECOND PAINTING
I couldn't get the sunrise (over the water) so I changed the picture entirely, or should I say, I ruined the picture entirely.
Only way to learn, is just to keeping going (oops) mountains with trees and birds on the siade and a setting sun. . . .
Both paintings I tried to correct something. . . .and am going to keep painting until I understand it and get it right.
Please join the Paint Party Friday group and see what we all are accomplishing.
Blessings,
Janet
I like the 'essence' of the first one ~ tranquil scene ~ Happy Weekend.
ReplyDeleteIt is all a 'process' and sometimes are better than others.
Love the puffy clouds! Keep going, you will get there Sweetie! Valerie
ReplyDeleteVery good efforts Janet. Keep up the good work, you show determination, which is a massive help in Learning. Practise, practise, practise. Remember Youtube videos are a great source of help i.e. Grahame Booth watercolour may help along the way. (just an idea for you). You show confidence in your paintings and adding sand is very good, shows you are prepared to experiment with textures.
ReplyDeleteI too like the first one with the puffy clouds. It's not so hard to keep going and even sometimes making a mess of things cuz you can always cover it up-and I've done that many times :) Happy PPF!
ReplyDeletewe have to learn and this is what makes it such a fab adventure. Happy PPF, Annette x

Keep going indeed! You are doing great! HPPF!
ReplyDeleteYou absolutely keep going!!! I love the texture the paint gives those "puffy" clouds!!! I love the wind in the sail too! Hugs and happy painting. Me? Still working at getting it right. Actually, I just do and you are stuck with whatever it is I get. LOL
ReplyDeleteI often go too far and much them up and then try to fix and totally ruin works... but they are never wasted as I always learn something so they don't bother me too much... I like seeing you learn as you go...xx
ReplyDeleteWonderful that you feel free to experiment and see what happens....I love mistakes, they often lead to something unexpected for me. Enjoy the process. Happy PPF
ReplyDeleteLove your attitude! That's the right spirit! Great idea to add sand ....

Not only do I know that you will get there - I can see you coming back to these paintings until you are satisfied. I have "ruined" more paintings than I care to remember - but wasn't brave enough to share them at the time. I love your soft colors and you will find your way! HPPF
ReplyDeleteI do like the puffy clouds:-) I do understand the frustration of ruining something, the determination of figuring it out, and the surprise and satisfaction of something working after all! Keep going, you are in good company:-)
