Molly has one more egg to be hatched. So far she has Max, Pattison, Austin and Wesley. This has been a learning experience regarding creatures in the wild.
I have two more darlings. The Beauty Mark dolls: Lavender Bunny and Daisy (Spring) is going to be up for adoption soon. Blessings, Janet

Owl and Eagle watching
I cannot tear myself away from the computer, not even to read blogs. Molly and McGee are proud parents of (so far) Max and Pattison, their owlettes. We have two more eggs we are watching. They are in CA being watched by schools and there have been 2M hits. WARNING: This is addicting.
I am also watching the eaglets, there are 3 new babies (hatched Mar 11, 13, 14). There is a lot of information about the birds (both) on the website. the Eagles are based in Norfolk VA. (They have viewing issues every once in awhile, but worth the wait.)
ENJOY! Blessings, Janet

New Pin Dolls
I've completed 2 more Pin Dolls. I've been wearing them and definitely getting them looked at. They attract many smiles.
The Mixed Media class with Karen Knight held at Jerry's Artarama Saturday afternoon was a treat and fun. I learned so much about collage art. With an art background, the collage will add so much more to what I do. She is brilliant and her paintings are an inspiration.
The 'painting' people I met are interesting and as much fun as the quilting, sewing, doll and crochet people are. Once you are part of the group, it is amazing the people you meet and the fun it can be. Another plus is the tips and tricks you can share with each other. Life is so exciting. Blessings, Janet

Flamingo Island Designs - My number came up a Winner
I have talked about Floozie their Flamingo before, she is gorgeous and leads them on a merry dance. I received the package and in it was a great Floozie wall quilt, plastic pink flamingos for embellising and gorgeous Fat 8's. I love the material and the pattern. Barb is a great teacher too. If you have the opportunity to take one of her classes, do so. Flamingo Island Designs is in Vero Beach, FL, they participate in the Fabshophop and most of the quilt shows in FL. Thank you so much Barb. Blessings, Janet
Lakeland Florida
That same weekend we ended up shopping in Lakeland at Patchwork Pig (my fave in Central FL), lunch at Crispers and across the street is the outdoor market (boiled peanuts and soap), and the pottery place on the corner with so many unusual items. Now that's a FUN shop. As you can see on the other side of the outdoor market is a train crossing (in the middle of town) remember those? Enjoy, Blessings, Janet

Yellow Cottage
Hi, I received a wall hanging pattern named Flamingo Cove by Marcia Layton from Heritage Quilt & Needle. This will be my first wall hanging and when we all find it, my first yellow cottage. I love that the pattern has Flamingos - that one is a favorite of this Paradise where I live. Check out her shop and fabrics. She has the greatest Retro Florida fabric. Enjoy. Blessings, Janet

Homeless Statistics in the US
This video stopped me in my tracks. Sometimes we don't know when we will be the one asking for help. Everyday is a new day to help someone. Pray for the volunteers and the recipients. Every one of us needs help at some point in time. Be there for others. Blessings, Janet
About 3.5 million US residents (about 1% of the population), including 1.35 million children, have been homeless for a significant period of time.

PBC Quilt Show 2010 - Happy Birthday Floozie
I know I have introduced you to Floozie, the Flamingo at Flamingo Island Designs quilt shop on one of my other quilt trips. They were a vendor at our quilt show and took a picture of my green Flamingo (see 2/22/2010 blog) that I made (pattern Designs by Kat) and this is what Barb had to say:
"Today is Floozie's fifth birthday and the five year anniversary of Flamingo Island Designs! Tonight we will have a big birthday party with all of Floozie's favorite foods: shrimp, pizza, chocolate cake, and pink hibiscus blossoms.

We're celebrating with a 5% OFF Sale all week long. Everything in the store, including sale items is on sale at 5% off. To receive the discount enter the words, "Happy Birthday, Floozie" into the coupon box and the amount will be deducted from your total. Offer expires on 3/7/10.
The name of the March winner of the Flamingo Basket of Goodies can be found at the end of this newsletter.
We had a good time in Palm Beach, Florida with all of our friends. Our friend, Janet, exhibited her soft sculpture of a witch riding a green flamingo, and we all just loved it! Floozie is now searching the want ads looking for a job working for a witch."
Barb and Floozie are a lot of fun and she has a lot of good sales on extraordinary fabric. I will be participating in their 1M Pillowcase Challenge going on now. Barb has a lot to say about Flamingos and so does Floozie. Be sure to sign up for their newsletter and look at their blogs. Yes Floozie has a blog too. The Quilt show was a success and a lot of fun.
Blessings, Janet
