Journal Pages The Documented Life Project weeks 2 and 3
Week 2 was to show the front door. What I found out about it was amazing to me.
Until I actually looked at the pictures of my front door, did I see that my entryway tells the story of my life, past and future.
~ The doll on the outside front door reflects I am a cloth doll maker.
~ The pelican (has aloe in it for healing) shows my love for birds.
~ The door mat with the puppy paws shows my great desire to have a pups.
~ The chimes play songs I love to hear.
~ The reflection of the clouds (I love reflections of any kind) shows through my front interior door. . . I can look out and anyone can look in. . .
~ I am open and receptive to life.
I used a scrapbook paper that I glued on pictures of the front door closed and open. I added the above wording and a piece of yarn as a frame.
Week 3 we were to make a used envelope into something. I took 2 envelopes with their Birthday cards still in them . . .glued them together because I want to reuse them with bits and pieces I have collected. One card is from my BEE group and the other from one of my Daughters. I also added stamps from a card my other daughter sent on my birthday.
I also used a stamp (lady with hat) and also 2 flower petals from yarn and added a bead in the center of each. I colored the hat and face with watercolor pencils and added stems and pots to the flowers. The 2 envelopes are closed. I also added pastels at the top and bottom of the drawings.
This is Week 2 and Week 3 together.
Thank you Kristin and Eva for a great Paint Party Friday each week. There are so many talented artists that need to be seen and you have provided that outlet. We all find many different supplies to try and to experiment with and to teach.Blessings,
Janet

My Very First Journal Page
This is my very first journal page, Ever. The assignment was a picture of me. I am a cloth doll artist. I made a ME doll with a semi-quilted wall hanging of where I want to travel, where I want to live (yellow cottage by the water) and a puppy. A garden in the backyard with a table and chair ( to the right). I also made a pastel of the beach on the journal page. Behind my picture is a map of Scotland with a pin in the place of my ancestors castle.
Thank you Kristin and Eva for giving artists an opportunity to share their art with the world on Paint Party Friday. Be sure and see other artists and their wonderful works.

Janet

Antique Lamp
It took me awhile and several different picture ideas, but I came up with one that I remember from my grandmother. Both my aunt (on daddy's side) and my grandmother (mom's mother) had tiffany type lamps.
Growing up with older ladies gave me an appreciation of art, objects that were different (their tables had feet) and that I never see the workmanship in furniture and other objects like that today. I do have a few of their tables (both grandmothers). . . albeit some lamps too, but not the tiffany type lamps.
I used 2 different cameras to try to show the glitter and gloss I used on the picture. . .just about time for a new camera, I can certainly see that.
The only other idea is to scan it (which I usually do, but glitter and the added gloss I used don't dry quickly. I also used Prismacolor pencils AND Watercolor pencils.
Thank you, Thank you Eva and Kristin for your patience, your Paint Party Friday and all the work you do to give us artists a grand site to show our works. It's a NEW YEAR 2014 and 52 weeks of wonder, learning, teaching, trying new art supplies. . . Yay!
