Minimalist Painting ReDo and Rt. 66 in Tulsa

My Minimalist ReDo
I took last week's painting and added my Dreams to it. Most of the painting is done with pastels. . but I also used Prismacolor pencils.  The house is no longer yellow. . .I'll take a house surrounded by nature.

Thank you Kristin and Eva for this wonderful spot to light every week on Paint Party Friday.

My life (from moving) is still in flux but I'm trying to get better at visiting as many of you as I can. Thank you so much for your comments and visits.
My late husband and I went on our honeymoon from
Central IL to California on Route 66.
We went through Tulsa, OK and stopped at ORU.

U.S. Route 66, also known as the Will Rogers Highway, the Main Street of America or the Mother Road, was one of the original highways within the U.S. Highway System. Wikipedia

Downtown Tulsa
Old Buildings and Gingerbread design. Some are Art Deco
OK, I took a day off. One of my neighbors was showing several of us around and we ended up at Charlestons in Brookside. I definitely recommend it.  We even went shopping at a General store.

My friend and I split a huge Reuben and had a cup of Homemade Potato soup. Yummy.

I finally have seen a lot of the place where I now live. It has more meaning to it.

Blessings,
Janet

  4. Well, your house still has a yellow glow to it :-) And you're right: where it's situated is more important than its colour. How nice of your neighbour to show you around. It takes a while to get used to a new place to live, and having someone show you the nice places can help make you feel more at home.
