Red tailed Hawk

This is a sketch with a bit of prismacolor pencil for color.  I am still sketching from the Bird Book . . BIRDS by Lee Hammond.

I am in the midst of redoing the whole living room guts and all, so I've been remiss in not getting around to everyone's blog.  I learn so much from all of you and enjoy your art and comments. Thank you.

Please stop around, enjoy and learn from the truly talented artist at Paint Party Friday.

Janet

Mama and Baby Duck

I walk every day to the Bridge and see Mama and Baby duck.  Sometimes baby duck is snoozing. I decided to draw them. Mama duck is black with a bit of red around her face. Baby duck has fuzzy down on him.  http://jkwgalleries.blogspot.com

Baby duck is sleeping with his little head in his back. So adorable.

Window Lamp

I used Prismacolor pencils and Fabrico marker.

The artists from Paint Party Friday are fantastic teachers and painters.  Some artists show their art journals that they do weekly/daily and describe how they are made. It is a fun and educating group of artists that I am so proud to be part of. There teaching ranges from products I've not heard of but can't wait to try, to products you see and use everyday. Their paintings are huge to ACEO size. Check them out.

Little Lulu

Little Lulu was my favorite character growing up. I remember all the cartoons. Remember Tubby? She was so fun/funny. I couldn't wait to draw her. I used pastels, prismacolor pencils and drawing pencils.

Thank you Eva and Kristin for a wonderful Paint Party Friday. Go see all the other many artists who participate. There are a variety and it is always lessons involved.

Blessings,
Janet

Owl Sketch

My owl sketch and color pencil is partially unfinished. I was trying to shape all the feathers individually.  The face feathers, wing feathers and the breast feathers are all totally different. The eyes in the picture were different, but not as different as my picture shows.

I find that when I draw/sketch/paint that the whole picture shows up differently on the computer than  what I see while sketching. I can see the details better and how it could be changed, shaded or highlighted.  What in the world did I do before computers!! I do like that I am better able to see a more exacting picture through the use of the computer.
