I got the Call

No one wants to get The Call.  I learned that one of my dear friends, Bernice, passed this weekend. She was not old.  She has been in the hospital and had emergency surgery last month.  However, she was getting well enough to be able to drive, go to the hairdresser and looked like on her way to recovery.  How were we suppose to know it wasn't to be. I will miss her wit, her wonderful encyclopedic mind - as far as I'm concerned, she knew everything.  There wasn't a solution she didn't have for everything any of us could think up.  I told her:  you really need to write a book, or at least a pamphlet, we all love how you know all the tips and tricks in the world.  I will miss just being with her.  We haven't been friends a very long time, but it was deep. My tears are for all the days that this friendship couldn't be longer. It has been a shock. Blessings, Janet

Weight Loss help

At different times in my life, I have been a bit too heavy.  20 years ago I used a weight loss tape with total success from Potentials Unlimited.  I have, over the years, replaced 2 tapes and given them as gifts to people who wanted help in losing weight.  At that time, I lost 30 pounds.  I say over the years b/c I also used it to stop smoking, yes the weight loss tape.  I was with a smoker and had picked it up fortunately only for a few years, but it was still hard to quit.

Now, I find that I have gained weight over the past 10 years again, I had decided to eat nothing but fresh fruits and veggies and to eat meat only without antibiotics, fillers, etc.  Fresh Market is THE store for all your grocery shopping.  They do have Greek yogurt too.  The diet is for the healthy blood tests, but I find that the combination of diet and tape, I have also lost 16 pounds so far.  For exercise/weights I also use the total gym, the easy shaper and the treadmill.

I look better, I feel better and the food tastes so much different than anything else when it's fresh and cooked only slightly.  I hope this helps.  Blessings, Janet

Stores have Halloween

I bought a metal witch with a wiggly hat that doesn't stop moving.  The cat is a candle holder -- when it is lit, his face lights up: eyes, nose, mouth.  Teamed with the Haunted House, this should be a good centerpiece.  Blessings, Janet

Happy 94 Today Daddy

I cannot imagine being 94, with a wit that is wonderful for all who are around him, and the stamina to go out to breakfast with my sis and her hubby. Daddy is one heck of a guy.  His mama would be proud - she is the first one in the picture, then me (my daughter Deb in front) my sister, Bonnie, mom and grandma Bender.  The clock picture is me in Clinton, IL where daddy was born.  You all have a Blessed day. Halloween Apron

Not too early to think of holidays.  I have been anxious to use this panel and finally found the right setting for it.  A Halloween Apron.  This will give it more use and its a different design.  I love to design around fabric panels.  Sometimes I have them what seems like forever, but finally something else will come along that fits it perfectly and calls out to me exactly what it should be. Working on it

As they say on NCIS.  I have a new baby that has been commissioned.  She is not quite done, but you get a sneak peek.  I need to get her done so I can play.  This weekend there is a craft show in Ft. Lauderdale and you know what is close by . . . Galleria mall and the Ocean.  Can't beat that.  It's been awhile since I've been out, so I am looking forward to it.  Are you all still looking for my cottage by the water?  I'll have to paint more pictures to remind me and you.  Thank you.  Blessings, Janet
